5, 4, 3, 2, 1...Happy New Year!!! Here we are we’ve made it
to 2014. Just like that we find ourselves counting down the seconds into the New Year. Where did the last 12 months go? I may say this every year but this
year literally flew by, I don’t think I’ve had such an eventful year to date.
For many of us the previous year was most probably filled highs and lows
alongside pivotal events which have shaped our current outlook on life. With
all my experiences so far I am extremely excited and ready for what is in store
for me in 2014.
At the start of each year there are two things I always say; “New Year new me” and “My big diet starts on the 1’st of
January” Although I always have great intentions of making these changes, my “
new me” and “big diet” don’t seem to last longer than 48 hours. I’m sure I’m
not the only person who comes up with these cliché resolutions. We all have
high hopes that the New Year will provide us with a clean slate in which we can
use to start afresh. I’m ready to use this fresh start to be the very best I
can be in 2014 and you should be too. I’m certain that 2014 can be all that we
want it to be and more. All we have to do is take a closer look into our lives
and actively make a change in the necessary areas. Here are some things I
believe are important as we make our way through the New Year.
Move Forward
It’s so easy to spend your days looking back consumed by
regrets, mistakes and what hasn’t worked out as you planned. As long as you’re
living in regret and focussing on the negatives that have occurred it will only
hold you back from the great opportunities and experiences that are ahead. As
we start this New Year let go of your disappointments and failures, you can’t
do anything about what happened or didn’t happen in 2013 but you can do
something about right now. Allowing yourself to move forward will bring you to
a whole new beginning, there is only so long you can mourn the past. Let the
dead weight from 2013 be gone.
Set Goals
You can’t walk into 2014 with a defeated mentality, some of
us speak like we’ve already lost the race; “I don’t want to be excited about
this year in case in turns out bad”, “ Yeah hopefully it’s a good year”.
Really? If you’re going to have that mentality you might as well have stayed in
2013. There is nothing wrong with claiming all the things you want, try
something different this year and make a list of your goals no
matter how big or small. A lot of us
want to change and do so much but we are often scared. So scared that we push
our aspirations to the back of our minds so we are not reminded that we
actually have to work hard at our goals. Make a plan and outline of
what you want in the upcoming year, keep this plan sight so you are constantly reminded of all that you
want and all that you have to do to reach your goals.
Build Your Momentum
Continue to build your momentum no matter what obstacles you
face. Nothing comes easy so whatever struggles you face you have to keep on
going. There is no time to fall back into your comfort zone or pity party’s. No
one can build your momentum except yourself so be your very own driving force
behind your aspirations.
We have 365 new days the breakthrough you want is up to you.
Happy New Year
